Jesse Tom May of Kenedy passed away on December 4, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. He was born to Jesse May and Lillian Tom May on July 24, 1936 in San Antonio. He graduated from Pleasanton High School and attended Texas A&I College. Following service in the National Guard, he worked for Dow Chemical Company at Freeport, Texas. After his retirement from Dow Chemical he moved to Kenedy. He also ranched in Atascosa and Karnes County until his death. He is survived by his brothers, Phillip May and his wife Glenna of Kenedy, Robert May and his wife Mary Ann of Campbellton, and his sister, Phyllis LaFrey and her husband Raymond of New Braunfels. He is also survived by his nieces LaRue Rhodes, Marie Smith, Martha May, and Elizabeth Palmer and two great nieces and three great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew David May. Visitation was held at 12:00 PM, Monday, December 7, 2009 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City with a funeral service following at 2:00 PM. Interment followed the service in the Campbellton Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers were Brandon Smith, Larry Brown, Lance Rhodes, J.Pat Tom, Philip Tom, and Joe Cruz.
