Vernon T. Reed, of Goliad, passed away on December 3, 2009 in Victoria, Texas. He was born April 21, 1933 in Kemp, Texas to John Pat Reed and Annie Earl Reed.
He worked as a Driller for a Seismograph Company for oil exploration. Mr. Reed volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center in Goliad and was a member of the Word Fellowship Church in Kenedy. He is survived by wife Margie Reed of Goliad, daughters Debbie Andrews and her husband David of Goliad and Julie Butler of Beeville, sister Pat Whitehead and her husband Arris of Dallas, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grand children, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bobby Earl Reed, and an infant sister. The family received visitors from 4 PM – 6 PM, Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City. A Funeral Service was held at 3 PM, Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Walter Hill III officiated. Interment followed in the Karnes City Cemetery.
