Paula Mae Thompson Lyssy, longtime resident of Falls City, Texas, entered eternal rest Saturday, December 12, 2009, at 1:00 P.M., at her residence in Falls City, at the age of 65 years, 3 months, 14 days.
Paula was born August 28, 1944, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Haskell Thompson and Ilene Rogers Thompson. She graduated from high school, and was a homemaker. Paula married Paul Felix Lyssy on April 17, 1961, in Iowa Park, Texas. Paula was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City. She enjoyed oil painting, going to garage sales and flea markets, and Paula especially loved her grandkids.
Paula is survived by her husband of over forty-eight years, Paul Lyssy of Falls City; her children, Trisha Moehrig and husband Kevin of Falls City, Gene Lyssy and wife Susan of Falls City, and Pam Fransen and husband Kirby of Seguin; her grandchildren, Shelbi Moehrig, Garrett Lyssy, Kendell Lyssy, Kelly Lyssy, Bradley Fransen, Matthew Fransen, and Kimberly Fransen; her sisters, Patsy Leary and husband Don of Seymour, Texas, and Barbara Thompson of Longview, Texas; and her brother, Loyd Thompson of Iowa Park, Texas. Mrs. Lyssy was preceded in death by her parents, Haskell and Ilene Thompson.
Visitation began at 5:00 pm, and a rosary was recited at 7:30 pm on Monday, December 14, 2009, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City, Texas. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City, Texas, officiated by Father Gregory Sawicki. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Falls City, Texas. Serving as pallbearers were Tim Swientek, Raymond Lyssy Jr., Buddy Ridley, Lucian Lyssy Jr., Bradley Fransen, and Matthew Fransen.
