Joe Guzman, Sr., of Kenedy, Texas, formerly of Houston, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009, at the age of 79.
Mr. Guzman was born February 8, 1930, in Karnes City, Texas to Gabriel and Sophie Garcia Guzman. He worked in construction, was a US Army Veteran, and was a member of the Catholic Church. Joe married Maria Ortiz on March 16, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Joe is survived by his wife, Maria Ortiz Guzman of Kenedy; his children, Cynthia Hallman and husband, William, of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Sylvia Hinojosa and husband, Edward, of Corpus Christi; his sisters, Maria Perez of Slator Texas, Elvla Trevino and husband Frank, and Angie Trevino and husband Luis, all of Kenedy, Texas; his brothers, Inez Alviar and wife Hope, Domingo Alviar and wife Emily, and Eddie Alviar, all of Kenedy, Gerardo Alviar and wife Cindy of Victoria, and Viencent Guzman of Karnes City, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers, Texas has made arrangements.
