Evelyn Seitze Brown, age 96, of Beeville, Texas joined the Lord January 7, 2010. Evelyn was born August 2, 1913 in Choate, Texas to Cora Mixon and Michael Seitze. Evelyn was a homemaker in Beeville, Texas. She was a member of the Word of Life Church in Beeville, Texas, and the VFW Auxiliary in Karnes City, Texas. Ms. Brown also volunteered and visited nursing homes regularly, sat with the elderly, and assisted any one in need.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Evelyn L. Gardner Smith and husband, Robert, of Beeville, Texas, and Ethel L. Gardner Withers of Houston, Texas; sisters, Rachel Scott of Arlington, Texas, Mabel Cockerham of Sugarland, Texas, and Bobbie Jean Acopian of Pennsylvania; brothers, Alton Seitze of Karnes City, Texas and Marvin Seitze of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Robert Dale Smith, Robert Withers, and Rochelle Martin, as well as one great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Gardner and Levi L. Brown; father, Michael Seitze; mother, Cora Mixon; and brother, Billy Seitze.
A visitation was held Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Beeville, Texas. The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 1:00 pm, also at the Galloway & Sons Chapel; Pastors Doyle Barnett and Dale Switzer will officiate. Burial will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville, Texas.
