Awhile back, while digging in my flower beds to plant some flowers, I was drawn back to the last time I was on my hands and knees digging. The posture is certainly the same — hands and knees, bending over, squatting, or in some cases, actually sitting and digging in the dirt. My reflections, though, were not on previous times planting flowers or vegetables, but on times digging in Israel and most recently, in 2006, in Jordan.
