Happy Anniversary my love
Sixty-four years and counting. Folks, as many of you know; those years have flown by.
Back in those days most dating young couples and young married couples had a favorite song that they called their song. Be that as it may, Betty and I had two songs.
One was ‘There Are Such Things’ sung by Frank Sinatra. The other sung by Nat King Cole was ‘Too Young.’
For you younger folks I will quote just a few of the lyrics from each song.
First from ‘There are such things.’
A heart that’s true, there are such things, a lover true, there are such things, so have a little faith and thrust in what tomorrow brings, because there are such things.’
From Too Young, came these words:
They tried to tell us that we were too young, too young to really be in love; love was just a word, a word we only heard and didn’t know the meaning of. And yet we were not too young to know that our love would last though years may go. And then some day they may recall that we were not too young at all.
So after sixty-four years I believe my love and I have fulfilled the messages expressed in both songs.
