86 and counting
Folks on March 10th I was 86. How thankful I am for such a long and happy life. I am a man truly blessed. As you regular readers know I have a wonderful wife and you may also know that I have two great children, great in-laws, an outstanding granddaughter and three exceptional great granddaughters.
Now folks I do understand that you feel the same way about your family! In fact, I heard a new grandfather say that his grandson was something else, but he was not going to spoil him. He told all of us that he would definitely not buy his new grandson a new car until he was at least six years old.
Never the less I have been blessed beyond my wildest dreams. I have former students and Rotary exchange students all over the world, who still keep in touch with me. They say I am something special to them. Folks, I am not special! If they saw and felt something about me, perhaps, just perhaps it was a tiny fraction of God’s love in my life. I have little doubt that they, and others, have seen the devil part of me also.
As we travel through life we project images other see. Our task, as I see it, is to project the love part of us far, far more than we do the devilish side. The scripture says," God is Love."
Hmmmmm.
