Ramblings, sayings and thoughts
Folks, what you are about to read are some thoughts I had thirty five years ago. I put them in a small book for the parents, students and friends of the school system I served at that time. I still believe them.
Here are some of them for your examination.
To over protect is to underestimate the potential of your child.
Time spent with a child is never lost.
Look behind an act for the cause.
If you respect children, they will respect you.
Loving children are a tribute to their parents.
Better to give spiritual gifts to one’s children when they are young than to give material gifts when they are old.
Be careful what you teach your children for they will surely learn it.
To neglect children is to neglect life.
All we need for unhappy, unconcerned, uncontrollable youth are unconcerned parents.
To make sure a child has a healthy well fed body is a good thing; to see that they have a healthy filled mind is equally important.
You may break a colt but you had better mold a child.
Give a child freedom. Not more than he or she can handle for their age and ability but enough for them to know that you believe in their abilities.
It is difficult to see the sun shine or the stars twinkle if you are always looking down at the dirt of this world.
Never send your love if you can deliver it in person!
