Reaching out

You know folks it does not take a little baby long to learn to reach out, to hold out those little arms when it wants and needs to be held and loved.

Many of us lose this habit, especially we men, as we grow older. We are told by words and actions that we need to solve all our problems by ourselves. "Be a man," is the admonition. We are told that to seek help is a sign of weakness. What a lie! It takes a real person to admit that they cannot do all things by themselves; we need help both from God and man! There is no such thing as a self made man! Case in point! Texans love their football and their players. All well and good! Be that as it may there is not a backfield man in Texas or anywhere else no matter how fast, shifty and powerful a runner he may be, that is going anywhere without the help of his teammates!

Folks, there are many people out there who can be very successful and live meaningful and wonderful lives if we just reach out to them! We can and should reach out to others as individuals, as churches, other organizations, as communities, as states and as a nation.

I am convinced that there are many triple threat individuals out there who should be able to score. All they need is for you and me, as teammates, to reach out a loving, helpful hand and give them the opportunity!
