That dog won't hunt
Folks, I don’t know if you are familiar with this expression or not.
Be that as it may, this old man heard it quite often as he was growing up.
It means that a particular idea, project, explanation, belief, etc. will not do the job, is not true or will cause more problems than it will solve.
Also it was used as a name given to a person who did little or nothing.
This saying flashed into my mind the other day when I heard some politicians and the president say to pass a bill providing the opportunity and paying for our veterans to get further education along with special medical services would be too expensive.
Folks, that dog won’t hunt!
After WW II, thousands upon thousands of our veterans received their education and purchased houses because of the G I Bill! It was one of the best laws passed by congress and signed by the president!
I am sorry to have to write this folks, but not providing educational opportunities and medical services for the men and women who risked their lives to keep us safe is, in my opinion, is not only wrong, but immoral .
Too expensive!
That dog won’t hunt!
What do we do with dogs that do not hunt?
We get rid of them!
