Karnes County's newspaper

87 and counting
Folks, this will be a short column as I turned 87 this past Monday. Therefore I decided I was too tired to tax my brain too much. Now I know that some of you people out there are saying," What Brain?"
I sit here being very thankful for my many years of life here on Earth.
Some of you readers of this column may remember when I wrote a column entitled "The Battery Is Charged." It was about my baseball playing days in college. I was the catcher and my friend Fels Lam was the pitcher. I told about the game when he struck out 23 men in 10 innings.
I am sorry to report the Fels passed away a couple of weeks ago.
So I am happy and thankful that I am able to write even if it is a column that is probably of little or no interest to you.
So you younger folks take heart! Cherish your friends and loved ones and keep them close to your heart.
