3 Karnes City businesses hit by burglars
By Jason Clay Jansky
Three Karnes City businesses were broken into over the weekend.
Thieves took small items and petty cash from Karnes Cleaners, Star Loans, and The Market between Friday and Saturday.
"We’re investigating, trying to figure out how many suspects and who all were involved," Karnes City Police Chief Eddie Salas said. "It’s a possibility (the burglaries) could have been committed by the same individuals. We’re still trying to recover some information."
One of the items stolen, a purse, was found outside one of the businesses in a dumpster. It was missing a ring that had been inside.
"They went in and anything that was easy to carry off was taken — small items that were worth money," Salas said. "If anybody has any information, call the police department (780-2300) and you’ll remain anonymous."
The thieves went in through the back door of one business and windows were broken out to gain entry into two others.
