Pursuant to his powers as Chief Executive Officer of the State of Texas, Governor Rick Perry recently issued a proclamation certifying that 152 counties in Texas are currently threatened by extreme fire hazard.

Karnes County is one of the counties on the list.

The proclamation directs that all necessary measures both public and private – be implemented to meet that threat.

Windy conditions and a lack of precipitation have dried grass and other vegetation across the state, posing significant fire danger which is expected to continue, the proclamation states.
