The Kenedy City Council voted unanimously to hire Reggie H. Winters as the new city manager for the City of Kenedy during a special meeting of the city council on April 30.

Winters will report to work on May 21. Salary was set at $50,000.

For the past five years, Winters has worked as city administrator for LaCoste, a town located about 20 miles west of San Antonio.

In other business, the council heard a preliminary presentation of the 2005-2006 audit presented by Wayne Beyer and Co.

City officials characterized the audit as being a "good report."
