Karnes City Library’s front door, windows damaged by vandals
By Jason Clay Jansky
The Karnes City Public Library was vandalized the morning of August 6.
The front two windows and glass door were damaged. Police found small holes in the glass of each of the two front windows, which were left standing. The front door’s glass was shattered entirely.
Karnes City Police Chief Eddie Salas said an individual used a slingshot to fire three steel ball bearings, one through each panel of glass.
The door leads into a foyer and beyond that a sliding glass door that leads into the library itself was left unharmed.
Police are asking any individuals that might have information about the incident to call the police department at 830-780-2300 or the sheriff’s department at 830-780-3931.
All callers will remain anonymous and don’t have to leave a name, Salas said.
