Kenedy ISD is proud to announce a "Back to School Rockout" to promote higher education for all students.

This event, which is free to the public, will be held on Saturday, September 15 at 9 a.m. in the newly air conditioned Kenedy High School Gymnasium.

Planned activities include local speakers who will deliver inspirational messages, a parade of professions, music, food, college booths, door prizes, T-shirt raffle, petting zoo, and entertainment.

The Kenedy High School ag department will be providing barbecue.

The KHS/KMS Band, football and volleyball teams, cheerleaders, and flag team will be participating.

Organizers are encouraging local residents to show support for KISD and efforts to promote academic excellence to all students by attending this event.

A parade through downtown will immediately follow the kickoff ceremony. All community members are encouraged to attend both events.

Organizers are inviting all to, "Come Rock Ahead to Higher Ed."
