Karnes City ISD struck by vandalism
By Joe Baker
A piece of equipment owned by the Karnes City school district was damaged as a result of vandalism on the school campus on either Sunday or Monday.
Police say that the window of a John Deere backhoe was shattered by a rock and broken brick that was thrown through it.
A school district employee reported seeing the damage Monday morning although no damage was visible on Sunday.
The incident remains under investigation and Karnes City Police Chief Eddie Salas is encouraging anyone with information about this act of vandalism to call the police department at 780-2300. He said that the identity of anyone reporting information would be kept anonymous and confidential.
