South Texas Trail Riders will be making their annual ride through Karnes County January 29 and 30.

The group will start out on the historic trail to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo January 25 and plan to stop in Kenedy, Karnes City, and Falls City.

Their arrival in Kenedy is scheduled for noon January 29 at Barth’s restaurant. The riders will stay at the Karnes County Show Barn that evening and supper will be served at 6 p.m.

The riders will pack up and head for Karnes City January 30, arriving in town at around 10:30 a.m. for a short parade through town and lunch at the city maintenance yard. They’re then scheduled to arrive in Falls City at 4 p.m. just before the evening dinner dance.

Food will be served from 6 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. The band Cactus Country will play at 7:30 p.m.

The South Texas Trail Riders are on their 48th annual historic trip to the San Antonio stock show. They make the journey once every year starting at the Texas coast and heading along U.S. Highway 181 on horseback to reach the stock show.
