Beaver Band places 13th in State competition
By Jason Clay Jansky
Falls City’s band placed 13th out of 16 bands in the class 1A state competition Monday, besting a school that previously placed higher than them at area.
Beaver Band Director Steven Wolf said it was an honor for the band just to be able to go to state competition and he praised the band for their performance.
"I thought they did very well. When you’re talking about that level (of competition), there’s just minute details that can take you anywhere from seventh down to 13th. Minute detail is what ended up getting us," he said.
The Beaver band ended up placing over Nueces Canyon High School, Wink High School, and West Hardin High School. Shiner High School placed fifth and Forsan High School took first place at the competition.
