County officials approve 14.5 holidays

County business will be put on hold 14 and a half days this year, according to the county’s official holiday schedule.

The courthouse, tax office, and other government operations that fall under the county’s jurisdiction have been or will be closed the following days in 2008:

Jan. 1, New Year’s Day.

Jan. 21, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Feb. 18, Presidents’ Day.

March 21, Good Friday.

May 26, Memorial Day.

July 4, Independence Day.

September 1, Labor Day.

Nov. 11, Veterans Day.

Nov. 26 (half day) and Nov. 27-28 (full days), Thanksgiving.

Dec. 24-26, Christmas.

Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve.
