Big crowds turn out for ‘Saturday in the Park’

Approximately 500 people visited the Karnes City park on Saturday to enjoy a basketball tournament, toss water balloons, and play other games. Children also enjoyed visiting the Moonwalk, having their faces painted, getting temporary tattoos, and visiting the snow cone table. Music during the early afternoon featured Sev7sky performing contemporary music.
Winners in the 3-on-3 basketball tournament took home trophies after a good contest. They were, in the 11-15 age group: Trey Sauceda, Kevin Shelton, Ralph Vasquez, and Thomas Krawietz. And the 16-Up winners were: Clayton Reynolds, Josh Bailey, Trey Tucker, and Weston Yanta.
Following the free hamburger supper, Clifton Jansky performed for a crowd of several hundred people in the pavilion of the park. Songs from both his Country Western days and his current Christian Gospel music albums were listened to with enthusiasm. A talented musician and songwriter, Clifton told his personal story of going from "Amarillo by Morning to Amazing Grace" and how God through Jesus Christ leads him in all areas of his life now.
Jansky stayed overnight in the Karnes City area and led the worship and fellowship time at First Baptist Church of Karnes City on Sunday morning. He sang several of his newly recorded songs and shared three that he had just recently written. His visit to Karnes City was sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Karnes City.
