Runge school officials notified parents on Monday that there has been a confirmed case of viral meningitis in the student population.

Because of the student’s right to privacy, school district officials are not at liberty to identify any specific information about the student.

A meeting was held Tuesday evening in the school cafeteria to help answer any questions parents may have had. School officials contacted the health department for advice about the illness, symptoms, and how to prevent it.
