Regional Approach to Park Planning

In September, the San Antonio River Authority’s Board of Directors authorized the Park Services Department to develop a regional park master plan and approved appointments to a Regional Park Planning Advisory Committee. To be titled The San Antonio River Basin Plan for Nature-based Park Resources, the plan will promote a regional approach to park planning and conservation of the San Antonio River Basin’s natural resources. This approach will lead to a greater level of coordination among park-planning agencies, reduce funding competition and strengthen park project grant applications from the numerous governmental entities in the basin.
